03/06/2010 | Writer: KAOS GL

The British Embassy is proud to celebrate IDAHO with colleagues from many countries and the Turkish LGBT rights group KAOS GL. On Friday 14 May Stuart Adam, Head of Political Section, took part in the opening panel discussion at the Fifth International Conference Against Homophobia in Ankara.

On Saturday 15 May, the British Embassy co-hosted a reception in Ankara for diplomats, politicians, journalists and human rights activists. On Sunday 16 May the British Embassy monitored a peaceful 'gay pride' march through Kizilay.

The British Government works with governments and civil society to improve human rights around the world. Stuart Adam said "better human rights for homosexual, bisexual and transgendered people is a fight that still has to be won in many parts of the world."
