In November 2018, the first LGBTI+ Rights
Commission was established within the İzmir Bar Association to conduct research
and study with a professional, theoretical and practical interdisciplinary
approach to make LGBTI+ rights claims visible. In December, the Ankara Bar
Association LGBTIQ+ Rights Centre, which aims to both work against LGBTI+s
violations and strengthen solidarity among lawyers, was founded. In April 2016,
the Samsun Bar Association decided to establish the "Commission for the
Protection of the Rights of Sexually Discriminated Individuals" at its
regular general assembly to provide free legal advice and lawyer support to
women, children and LGBTI+'s who are victims of violence.
