The generations following the military coup of September 12, 1980, have been taught that engaging in politics is harmful and means deviating from the true path. The irony is that this attitude towards politics is also political. Politics lies at the heart of how we live, how we dress and how we contact each other. Indeed, the insight of European feminists in the 1970s still holds: what is personal is political. Saying that heterosexuality is the only legitimate and normal sexual orientation is as political as arguing the contrary.

KAOS GL contests all heterosexual male stereotypes that ignore homosexuality. It also fights so that homosexuals can create our own identities as homosexuals and our own lifestyle. This naturally requires a political stance.
