Kaos GL and Pink Life are attending Fifty-sixth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 27 February to 9 March 2012.

 
 
The priority theme was defined as “the empowerment of rural women and their role in poverty and hunger eradication, development and current challenges.”
 
Ezgi Koçak will represent Kaos GL and make her contributions to;  the principle of equality before the law on the basis of the necessity of constitutional amendments in order to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and hate crimes and speeches employment and health issues on the basis of LGBT organizations’ criticism against neoliberal structure in general; Law on Social Security and General Health Insurance (Sosyal Sigortalar ve Genel Saglik Sigortası, SSGSS) which can be read with reference to the demonstration of the institutionalized neo-liberal structure and backlash against women’s existing social security rights, in particular violence against women on the basis of the highlighting all forms of violence that lesbians and bisexual women face.
 

Sinem Hun from Pink Life and Feride Eralp from Amargi take part in the CSW. International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) will give its support during the meetings.
