LGBT Refugees Met in Kayseri against Homophobia and Transphobia

The third of Refugee Meetings organized within the scope of Meeting against Homophobia thanks to the cooperation of IRQO, Heartland Alliance and Kaos GL took place in Kayseri. Within the scope of the activity a meeting for the detection of the problems of refugees and thereafter a picnic in the Kayseri, Erciyes Mount were organized.

 

In the meeting which took place at morning short information was delivered to refugees about Kaos GL. Thereafter two headings concerning the problems refugees experience with official and civil institutions and concerning the problems they experience as to the access of health were determined and they were discussed. The problems experienced within this sphere having been determined, it is claimed that they would be shared with refugee NGO’s and official institutions.

 

In the end of the meeting it was stated that these problems would not be solved soon, but steps for solution would be taken. It was stated that these problems could not be solved in the short run because one would act together with the state and other institutions and problems may be overcome by the fact that they may handle these issues as a problem and act on the basis of this. It was emphasized that Kaos GL was organizing these meetings so that these institutions would add the problems of refugees to their agenda.
