A group of transgender people in Ankara, Iskitler was attacked by a large group of men and women (approximately 30 people) yesterday (18 August 2013) around 10 pm. Iskitler is a neigborhood known as a cruising spot for sex worker women. Pink Life LGBT Association announced that more than 30 transgender were subjected to a violent attack, two trans women were still in a critical condition, transgender woman E.G. had her nose broken and had the risk of losing one eye.
 
According to the victims and the eyewitnesses the attackers used a white Sahin brand car, two BMW cars and a Doblo brand car. Victims of the attack gave the license plate number of the white colored Sahin brand car to police, however police claimed that the plate number was fake. The victims thought that the attackers were linked to the gang of Eryaman which was responsible for some previous attacks. Pink Life Association stated that the judicial attitude towards the hate crimes helped to increase the similar hate crime related attacks, and stressed that the criminals should not be rewarded with getting away with it without any proper punishments.
