In the Izmir stage of the Media School, participants discussed the digital design and being the subject of the news.

Kaos GL Media School was held in Izmir on 14th of April. In the first session of the school, Kaos GL Media and Communication Program Coordinator Yıldız Tar told about the basic principles of journalism, rights-based journalism and media literacy. Underlining the importance of rights-based journalism against discrimination and hate speech, Yıldız Tar also shared the results of Kaos GL Media Monitoring Report 2018.

Later on, workshop on writing news was held with the active participation. During the session, questions like “how can we be voice of people who are not heard” and “how can we contribute to subjects to tell their stories” were discussed.

In the second session, participants made visual design practices with Özgür Mehmet Kütküt. After teaching technical tools for the design, Kütküt told about the basis of visual design, social media visuals, video production and basic video edit. Then, participants designed their own banners and videos in practical session.
