Program of the International Conference on Gender and Law to be organized by Kaos GL in İzmir has been announced, and registrations are open!

Kaos GL Association is organizing International Conference on Gender and Law on 17-19 October in İzmir.

For the Conference where national and international legal experts, scholars and human rights defenders are going to talk, registration is needed. Whomever would like to participate the conference have to send an email introducing themselves and their interests to bilgi@kaosgldernegi.org until 17:00 on 15th October. Details about the conference will be shared with the registered pariticipants later on.

Simultaneous translation will be provided during the conference.

Kaos GL opened up discussions on gender-based violence, hate crimes and for struggling these what is our legal situation.

What is in the conference?

The Conference is going to start with the opening speech of Lawyer Yasemin Öz, the Chairperson of Kaos GL. In the first day, “law achieve for the struggle for access to rights”, “gender-based violence”, “the impact of multi-discrimination on legal procedures” issues will be discussed.

In the second day, “communication between LGBTI clients and lawyers” and “gender reassignment processes and law” sessions are in the program. The Conference will be finalized with a forum on 19th October.

Who are the speakers?

Lawyers from Ankara, Mersin, İstanbul, Adana and İzmir as well as academics from Ankara University and Kadir Has University are among the speakers. Human rights defenders and lawyers from Queer Cyprus Association, Pink Life, Pozitif-İz, Association of Women with Disabilities, Multeci-Der will also participate the conference as speakers.

International speakers of the conference are coming from LGBTI Equal Rights Association for Western Balkans and Turkey (ERA), Juventus (from Montenegro), Center for Equality and Liberty from Kosovo and Transgender Europe.
