Soccer Referee Dinçdağ’s Discrimination Claim Against His Employer Continuing

Soccer referee Halil İbrahim Dinçdağ’s claim against Turkey’s Football Federation (TFF) due to sexual orientation discrimination has continued yesterday.

 

The 5th trial for 110 thousand lira pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages that football referee Halil İbrahim Dinçdağ’s claimed against Turkey’s Football Federation (TFF) due to sexual orientation discrimination took place yesterday. In İstanbul 20th Court Instance, the 5th trial happened with the participation of Dinçdağ and his lawyer Fırat Söyle and as TFF’s lawyer Serkan Teker.

 

Dinçdağ’s lawyer Söyle asserted that the unjust treatment against his client is continuing because of what he has been through and said: “Dinçdağ used to take in charge of 4-5 matches a week. Therefore, we are demanding a report from legal experts for the pecuniary damages Dinçdağ has been suffering from.”

 

Based on Dinçdağ’s demand, the court sent his file to legal experts to be investigated for the pecuniary damages and asked TFF for a detailed information on matches Dinçdağ worked.

Among Trabzon region referees, Halil İbrahim Dinçdağ sued TFF in November, 2010 because of deliberately keeping him out of the soccer field and demanded 10 thousand liras for pecuniary and 100 thousand liras for non-pecuniary damages.
