Siyah Pembe Ucgen Izmir Association is the fourth lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and transsexual group that authorities in the Republic of Turkey have tried to close down by claiming that its charter goes against "public morality" and "Turkish family structure." In every case, these charges have been dismissed or rejected.

Following an appeal from the Siyah Pembe Ucgen Izmir Association, IGLHRC wrote a letter to the government requesting that officials immediately drop all charges against the organization, expedite its registration as a valuable member of civil society, and clarify that LGBTT people enjoy the full rights of citizens provided by the Turkish Constitution.
